Features

Trim video removes the extra footage at the start and end of a clip before you share it in a chat, post it on social media or drop it into a presentation. Files from your device get a preview right on the page with two range handles; for Drive or link files you type exact times. The cut is re-encoded to MP4 (H.264 and AAC), so it lands on the exact frame.

  • Preview device files and pick the section with two draggable handles.
  • Exact time entry to a tenth of a second, also for videos from Drive or a link.
  • Frame-accurate cuts, re-encoded to MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio.
  • Real progress percentage while the server processes your video.
  • The file keeps its name with “-cat” added, e.g. “wedding-cat.mp4”.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the trimmed video always an MP4?

To cut on the exact frame the clip is re-encoded. MP4 with H.264 and AAC plays on phones, computers and all major social networks.

Does trimming reduce quality?

The clip is re-encoded at high quality, so differences are hard to see. The file size may change compared with the original.

My MKV file won’t preview. How do I choose the section?

Some browsers can’t play MKV or AVI. Check the timestamps in a player on your device, then type Start and End into the time fields.

Can I trim a video on my phone?

Yes, as long as the file is 100 MB or less. Drag the handles or type the times, and keep the screen on while the video uploads.
