Features
Cut audio saves one section of a song, a voice memo or a video’s soundtrack as a new file. Use it to make a ringtone, grab a chorus, or trim the dead air at the start and end of a recording. Files from your device open in a player with range handles; for Google Drive files and links, you type exact start and end times.
- Opens MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, OGG, AAC, WMA, Opus, AMR, M4R and AIFF, plus MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM and other videos.
- Player preview with two range handles for files from your device; exact time fields for Drive and link files.
- Optional 2-second fade in at the start and 2-second fade out at the end.
- Saves as MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, OGG or M4R; M4R ringtones can be up to 40 seconds long.
- The result keeps your file name with “-cat” added, so “intro.mp3” becomes “intro-cat.mp3”.
- Processed with FFmpeg on BigQTools servers and deleted automatically 2 hours after upload.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make an iPhone ringtone?
Select a part no longer than 40 seconds, set Output format to M4R (iPhone ringtone) and click Cut audio. If the part is longer, the tool asks you to choose a shorter one.
Can I cut the audio out of a video?
Yes. Upload an MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, AVI or 3GP video and the tool saves the sound from the selected part as an audio file, without the picture.
Why is there no preview player for my Google Drive file?
The preview player is only available for files added from your device. For Google Drive files and links, type the start and end times into the time fields instead.
When should I use fade in and fade out?
Turn them on when the cut starts or stops in the middle of a phrase. The volume rises over the first 2 seconds or falls over the last 2, so the clip doesn’t begin or end abruptly.
