How to use Repair PDF in 3 steps

  1. Add the broken PDF

    Click to select the damaged file on your device or drag and drop it onto the page. If it lives in Google Drive or behind a direct download link, you can add it from there too.

  2. Check you picked the right file

    There are no settings to adjust. Just glance at the file name in the list to make sure it’s the damaged copy.

  3. Repair and test the file

    Click “Repair PDF”, download the repaired copy and open it in your PDF reader. If it opens fine, continue to Compress PDF or PDF to Word.

What kinds of PDF problems can it fix?

It targets structural damage, such as files that report errors, won’t open or were only partly saved. While rebuilding, the tool tries to keep all content that is still readable.

Why are pages or images still missing after the repair?

If that data is gone, for example after an incomplete download, it cannot be recreated. Try getting the original file again from the sender or wherever it was stored.

Why was my .pdf file rejected as the wrong type?

BigQTools checks the actual contents of each upload. Some files named .pdf are really web pages or other formats, so there is no PDF data to repair.

An email attachment won’t open on my phone. What can I do?

Save the attachment to your phone or Google Drive, open BigQTools on your phone and upload it to Repair PDF.
