How to use Excel to PDF in 3 steps

  2. Set the print area

    The tool follows the print area stored in the file, so set one in Excel and save the workbook if you only want part of a sheet in the PDF.

  3. Convert and share the PDF

    Click Convert to PDF, then download it, save it to Google Drive or copy the download link. Continue lets you merge it with other PDFs or add a password.

Frequently asked questions

Why is a wide table split across several pages?

Pages are laid out from the print area and page setup saved in the file, so a table wider than the paper spills onto the next page. Switch to landscape or fit the sheet to one page in Excel, save, then convert again.

Can I convert only part of a sheet?

Yes, by setting a print area in Excel before uploading. The tool has no range picker of its own and uses the print area saved in the file.

Does it work with CSV files?

Yes. A CSV file stores no print area or formatting, so if you need borders, column widths or a paper size, format it in Excel and save it as XLSX before converting.

What happens to cells with formulas?

The PDF shows the values you see in the cells, not the formulas behind them, just like printing the sheet on paper.
