How to use Rotate PDF in 3 steps

  1. Add the sideways PDF

    Click the upload area to choose the file on your device, or drag the PDF onto it. You can also add it from Google Drive or with a direct download link.

  2. Choose the rotation

    90° right, which is clockwise, is selected by default. Pick 180° for upside-down pages or 90° left to turn them counterclockwise.

  3. Rotate and download

    Click “Rotate PDF”, then download the result or save it to Google Drive. To make a rotated scan smaller, continue straight to Compress PDF.

Rotate PDF turns all pages of a file by the same angle, for scans that came out sideways, documents photographed upside down or landscape drawings. Unlike the temporary rotate button in a PDF viewer, the new orientation is saved into the file, so it displays correctly on any device.

  • The orientation is written into the PDF, so any reader app shows the pages upright.
  • Pages are not re-compressed during rotation, so text and images stay as sharp as before.

Frequently asked questions

Can I rotate only certain pages?

This tool rotates all pages by the same angle. If just a few pages are wrong, split them out with Split PDF, rotate that part, then put the document back together with Merge PDF.

Which angle fixes a sideways page?

If the top of the page points left, choose 90° right; if it points right, choose 90° left. Upside-down pages need 180°.

Will rotating blur the text?

No. Only the page orientation changes and the content is not re-compressed, so it looks exactly as sharp as the original.

I rotated the PDF in my viewer, so why is it sideways again?

Many viewers only rotate the view while you read and don’t save the change. BigQTools creates a new file with the orientation stored, so it opens correctly for anyone you send it to.
