Drag the range or type Start and a Length of 1 to 15 seconds, then choose a 320, 480 (default) or 640 px width and 10 or 15 fps.

Press “Create GIF”, download the animation, save it to Drive or continue to Compress image for a lighter file.

Video to GIF makes an animation from a short clip to share in a group chat, drop into a slide or show a step in a tutorial. Choose a start time and a length of up to 15 seconds, then a width and frame rate. A color palette is computed for each clip, so the GIF stays close to the original colors.

Why are GIFs limited to 15 seconds?
GIF stores every frame as its own image, so files grow very quickly. The 15-second limit keeps GIFs light enough to share and display.
How can I make my GIF smaller?
Choose 320 px, 10 fps and a shorter length. You can then continue to Compress image.
Does a GIF keep the sound?
No. The GIF format has no audio; if you need sound, use Trim video to keep that part as an MP4.
Why is there no range slider for my Google Drive video?
Preview is only available for videos from your device. For Drive or link files, type the start time and length.
