Phone videos often weigh tens of megabytes, more than email or messaging apps allow. Compress video re-encodes the clip at the quality you pick and can lower the resolution for bigger savings. When it finishes, the page shows the size before and after so you know exactly what you saved.

Which level should I use for messaging apps?
Balanced is usually small enough while still sharp on a phone. If the file is still too big, set Max resolution to 720p.
Why didn’t my video get much smaller?
Videos that were already heavily compressed, such as downloads from social media, have little left to squeeze. Try Smallest or a lower resolution.
Will compression remove the sound?
No. The audio is kept and encoded as AAC alongside the picture in the MP4 file.
Can I compress a video larger than 100 MB?
Uploads are limited to 100 MB per file. Split a larger video into shorter parts on your device first, then compress each part.
